DHAKA — Following a resilient recovery to clinch the One Day International (ODI) series 2-1, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has introduced a significant performance incentive for the upcoming Twenty20 International (T20I) series against New Zealand. In a move designed to galvanise the squad and sustain competitive intensity, the board has announced that top performers will be eligible for high-value electronic vehicles.

The national squad is currently observing a three-day hiatus before the shortest format commences on 27 April 2026. During this period, it was confirmed that the standout Bangladeshi cricketer in each of the three T20I fixtures will be designated as the “Most Valuable Bangladeshi Player of the Match”.

Incentive Rationale and Vehicle Specifications

The President of the BCB, Tamim Iqbal, confirmed that recipients of this award will be presented with an Eloop brand e-bike. Each vehicle carries a market value of approximately 290,000 Bangladeshi Taka.

The governing body has outlined that the primary objective of this initiative is to incentivise elite individual contributions and foster a rigorous competitive spirit. Crucially, this award is independent of the official “Player of the Match” title presented by match organisers; this ensures a domestic player is rewarded even if the team suffers a defeat, provided their individual performance is deemed the most valuable among the home side.
