Tragic Death in Komolganj Family Dispute

A man has been found dead in what is suspected to be a suicide following a prolonged domestic dispute in Komolganj Upazila of Moulvibazar District. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at a residence in the village of Purbo Balrampur under Patanushar Union.

The deceased, 40-year-old Ramzan Ali, son of Ansar Mia, was discovered hanging from a ceiling beam inside his home by family members at dawn. He was a married man and father of two children. Upon receiving the information, local residents alerted authorities, who subsequently arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

According to family members and local sources, tensions had been brewing within the household since last Friday, when a severe altercation reportedly took place between Ramzan Ali and his wife. During the dispute, it is alleged that Ramzan Ali assaulted his wife with a sharp domestic weapon, leaving her injured. She was initially treated at Moulvibazar District Hospital and later moved to her parental home for further recovery.

Following the incident, Ramzan Ali is believed to have become increasingly distressed. Relatives described him as mentally disturbed in the days that followed, allegedly overwhelmed by marital discord, potential legal consequences, and social pressure within the community. Authorities suspect that this psychological strain may have contributed to his death, though no conclusive determination has yet been made.
