Kuwait Airport Drone Strike Injures Four Bangladeshis

Four Bangladeshi nationals have been injured in a drone attack at Kuwait’s main international airport. The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait is overseeing their treatment and maintaining regular contact with the relevant authorities.

In an emergency statement issued on Wednesday (3 June), the embassy said that, due to the ongoing regional crisis in West Asia, Kuwait’s airspace has recently been targeted multiple times by drone and missile attacks. In the latest incident, four Bangladeshis were among several foreign nationals injured, while one person was reported killed.

The embassy confirmed that it is maintaining continuous communication with local authorities to ensure appropriate medical assistance for the injured Bangladeshi citizens and to monitor their condition.

Meanwhile, the Government of Kuwait has issued special security directives in response to the situation. The directive states that photographing or recording videos of rocket or drone attacks, as well as interception activities, is a punishable offence under Kuwaiti law. The Bangladesh Embassy has therefore urged Bangladeshi expatriates to strictly comply with local laws and refrain from capturing or sharing such footage on social media platforms.

The embassy further noted that, due to the increasing number of casualties, Kuwait’s Central Blood Bank is facing a shortage of blood supplies. In response, it has called upon Bangladeshi expatriates who are eligible to donate blood to visit the Central Blood Bank without delay and to encourage others to do the same.

The embassy has also advised all Bangladeshi nationals residing in Kuwait to remain vigilant and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities in order to ensure their personal safety amid the ongoing security situation.
