Sylhet-Dhaka Flight Fares Reduced

The cost of flights on the Sylhet-Dhaka route has been reduced, officials confirmed on Friday (28 November), in a move aimed at improving passenger access and aligning fares with market trends. The announcement was made by the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner’s Media Cell.

According to the Media Cell, Biman Bangladesh Airlines reviewed passenger demand, service quality, and market conditions before revising its fare structure for the Sylhet-Dhaka-Sylhet route. Under the new scheme, the minimum fare has been set at BDT 2,024 (three thousand one hundred ninety-nine with taxes), while the maximum fare is BDT 7,024 (eight thousand one hundred ninety-nine including taxes).

Experts suggest that the fare reduction is likely to encourage more frequent travel between Sylhet and Dhaka, benefiting business travellers, tourists, and the general public. By adjusting fares based on market conditions, the airline aims to remain competitive while ensuring that passengers receive improved service standards.

Officials emphasised that the revised fare structure reflects a broader strategy to enhance domestic air travel accessibility. Passengers are expected to find the changes particularly advantageous for budget planning, while the airline hopes to increase overall ridership. The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic connectivity, support economic activity, and ensure a positive experience for travellers on one of the country’s busiest routes.
