Venezuela to Become the United States’ New Energy Hub: Machado

Venezuelan political discourse is currently dominated by Juan Guaidó’s close associate, Machado, whose recent statements have captured international attention. On 3 January, Machado described the day as “historic” during a press conference, highlighting the significance of a U.S.-led operation that resulted in the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. According to Machado, this action represents a pivotal moment not only for Venezuela but also for the global defence of human dignity and sovereignty.

Speaking to the media, Machado asserted that the removal of Maduro would pave the way for a stable Venezuela, underpinned by U.S. security and economic cooperation. He emphasised that the nation would soon emerge as a secure destination for international investment, while its energy exports would play a critical role in meeting American demand. Additionally, Machado spoke of repatriating Venezuelans abroad to contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

“We are confident that, given a free and fair election, our party would secure at least 90 per cent of the vote,” Machado said. “I am prepared to return to the country as soon as possible and work directly with the people.”

Machado also directed strong criticism at the newly appointed interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, branding her as “one of the main agents of oppression, corruption, and drug trafficking.” While the Trump administration has indicated a willingness to collaborate with Rodríguez and some U.S. officials have expressed differing views regarding the election timetable, Machado remains resolute in his stance.

Last Saturday, members of the U.S. Delta Force reportedly executed the operation that transferred Maduro and his wife from Caracas to a detention facility in Brooklyn, New York. While Maduro has pleaded not guilty in court, Machado portrays the operation as a crucial step toward establishing democracy in Venezuela.

Political analysts suggest that under Machado’s leadership, Venezuela could evolve into a strategically significant and robust state on the global stage. “Venezuela will not only serve its own citizens but will become an essential centre for humanitarian and economic stability worldwide,” Machado remarked.

Looking ahead, analysts anticipate that Venezuela could gain recognition as a reliable partner for international investment and security cooperation. Machado’s vision foresees the country playing a leading role in thwarting regional criminal networks while supplying energy according to U.S. demand, positioning Venezuela as a key player in both Latin American and global affairs.
