In a tragic incident in Alamdanga, Chuadanga, a Bangladeshi expatriate lost his life while attempting to save a cat from a road accident. The unfortunate event occurred on Tuesday (6 January) around noon at the Yadobpur Bridge area on Hatboalia Road.
The deceased has been identified as Nazmul Huda, 28, son of Aynal Haque of Hardi village, Alamdanga. He was working in Malaysia before returning to Bangladesh for personal matters.
Alamdanga Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Bani Israil, confirmed the incident, saying, “Nazmul Huda was travelling from Hardi to Alamdanga on his motorcycle when a cat suddenly darted in front of him at the Yadobpur Bridge. In his attempt to avoid harming the animal, he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown off. Sadly, he died instantly at the scene.”
The officer added that the family has taken the body home. Local residents described Nazmul as a compassionate and gentle individual, known for his love of animals and willingness to help those in need. Witnesses noted that his quick reaction to save the cat, though admirable, ultimately cost him his life.
