A tragic road accident in Fatikchhari, Chattogram, claimed the life of a motorbike rider on Saturday morning when his vehicle collided with a brick-laden jeep. The incident occurred at around 7:30 am on the Nanupar–Khiram Road in the Lombatilla area, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Shakil, 42, a resident of Mogkata in Khiram Union, and son of Abdul Qader. His companion, Alauddin Talukdar, 39, who hails from Anwara, Chattogram, sustained severe injuries in the crash. According to local sources, Alauddin was travelling with Shakil to visit his family in Fatikchhari when the accident occurred. Shakil was driving the motorcycle at the time.
Eyewitnesses and police reports indicate that as the motorcycle approached Lombatilla, it collided head-on with a jeep transporting bricks. Both men were thrown from the vehicle upon impact. Local residents immediately came to their aid, rushing them to Fatikchhari Upazila Health Complex. On arrival, medical staff pronounced Shakil dead, while Alauddin was later transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Speaking to First Alea, Officer-in-Charge Muhammad Selim of Fatikchhari Police Station confirmed the details, stating that the collision involved a brick-laden jeep and the motorcycle. He added that Shakil’s family had requested to bury the body without a formal post-mortem. Once the legal permissions are granted, the authorities will hand over the body to the family. The police are currently investigating the incident and locating the jeep involved.
