The department’s six-hour forecast from 7:00 am predicts clear skies over Dhaka, with winds blowing from the north/northwest at 5–10 km/h. Meanwhile, the latest 120-hour nationwide forecast anticipates partly cloudy but dry conditions, alongside a slight rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country.

District towns are experiencing morning fog and dew-covered fields, creating picturesque but chilly landscapes. As evenings grow colder, the demand for winter clothing is rising, with families taking extra precautions against cold-related illnesses, particularly among children and the elderly.

The season has also ushered in the traditional pitha and puli festival, celebrating Bangladesh’s winter culinary heritage. By afternoon, market stalls fill with steaming pithas, drawing crowds eager to savour the warm, freshly made treats. The aroma of sweet and savoury delicacies wafts through the streets, adding a festive atmosphere to the crisp winter air.

Meteorologists advise citizens to layer clothing, keep warm, and monitor health, especially during early mornings and late evenings when the chill is most pronounced. They also caution that while daytime temperatures may feel moderate, nights and early mornings remain cold, and residents should take care to avoid seasonal ailments.

The winter season, blending cool weather with cultural festivities, continues to transform the country, highlighting both the charm and the challenges of Bangladesh’s coldest months.
