In a landmark event, Dhaka Bank PLC, in partnership with Mastercard, introduced “Spark”, Bangladesh’s first dual-currency prepaid card designed specifically for young people. The launch took place at a ceremony held at a hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka, and marks a major step towards empowering the country’s digitally inclined youth.

The Spark card is tailored to meet the needs of Bangladesh’s young, tech-savvy generation. With a blend of advanced financial features and exclusive lifestyle benefits, it offers discounts and perks in areas like travel, dining, education, fashion, and technology, both within Bangladesh and internationally. It is designed to support the busy and global lifestyle of young cardholders, providing seamless digital payment options alongside attractive rewards.

Key Features and Benefits of the Spark Card
One of the standout features of the Spark card is its dual-currency functionality, enabling users to make smooth transactions whether at home or abroad. Additionally, the card offers up to 5% cashback on categories that resonate with young people, such as online streaming services, Star Cineplex, food delivery, and ride-sharing apps.

As part of its commitment to supporting young people’s global ambitions, the Spark card also offers special discounts on registration fees for internationally recognised exams like IELTS, SAT, GMAT, and TOEFL.

The launch event also featured a thought-provoking panel discussion with student representatives from seven prominent private universities in Bangladesh. The event was attended by over 100 students from top universities like North South University (NSU), Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), and BRAC University, alongside officials from Dhaka Bank and Mastercard.
