The latest International Cricket Council T20 International team rankings have been released, with India maintaining its position at the top of the standings. The Indian national side, which won the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, has retained first place in the rankings despite recording a slight decrease in rating points since the previous update.
India’s continued hold on the leading position reflects the team’s sustained performances in the shortest format of international cricket. Although the rating points have marginally declined, the reduction has not been sufficient to affect the team’s overall ranking.
England remains in second place in the updated standings. The side has maintained its position as one of the leading teams in T20 cricket through consistent performances in recent international fixtures. Australia is placed third, continuing to occupy a top-three position in the format.
New Zealand is ranked fourth in the latest table. The team has remained among the higher-ranked sides in T20 internationals due to its regular performances in bilateral series and ICC competitions. South Africa is positioned fifth, while Pakistan holds sixth place without any reported movement in ranking.
West Indies occupies seventh place. Historically one of the strongest teams in T20 cricket, the Caribbean side remains within the top seven of the global rankings.
Bangladesh has registered an improvement in the latest update, climbing one place to eighth position. The rise marks a positive movement for the Bangladesh national team in the ICC rankings. In contrast, Sri Lanka has dropped one place and now sits ninth in the standings.
Afghanistan remains in tenth place, retaining its spot within the top ten. The team has continued to establish itself as a competitive side in limited-overs cricket, particularly in the T20 format.
Outside the top ten, Zimbabwe is ranked 11th, followed by Ireland in 12th position. Both teams continue to compete regularly in international T20 fixtures and remain part of the broader rankings structure.
ICC team rankings are updated periodically based on recent international performances. Rankings are generally determined through a points-based system that considers match outcomes, series results and the relative strength of opposition. As a result, each bilateral series and tournament can influence a team’s position in the standings.
India’s retention of the top position underlines its continued standing in international T20 cricket, while Bangladesh’s one-place rise represents the only notable movement within the top ten in this latest rankings update.
