Israel Continues Attacks on Gaza After Ceasefire, Death Toll Rises to 279

Israel’s military continues to carry out attacks on Gaza even after the ceasefire with Hamas. The ceasefire was implemented on 10 October, but despite this, the occupation forces’ aggression against Palestinians has not ceased, leading to a worsening crisis. This information was reported by BBC.

According to Gaza’s official media office, Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire 393 times, resulting in 279 deaths so far. Additionally, 652 people have been injured.

Meanwhile, in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes killed 13 people and injured several others. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and killed a child and an Al Jazeera journalist.

On Tuesday, in the occupied West Bank, a person was killed by a car and stabbed, while three others were injured. On 7 October 2023, the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched an unexpected attack by entering Israel’s borders. In this attack, 1,139 people were killed and nearly 200 people were taken hostage.

For nearly two years, Israel’s brutal aggression in Gaza has resulted in at least 69,483 Palestinians killed and 170,706 injured.

Israeli human rights organization Physicians for Human Rights reported that at least 94 Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli prisons in the past two years. The organization’s new report suggests that these deaths may be part of systematic killings, possibly covered up.

The report also noted that in the previous 10 years, approximately 30 Palestinians died in Israeli custody, and the recent deaths are believed to have been caused by physical torture, denial of medical care, or a combination of both.

Israeli authorities have denied these allegations and stated that they manage detainees in accordance with the law.
