Rangpur Reports 571 Absences on First Day of SSC Exams

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in Rangpur district commenced on Tuesday (21 April) at 10:00 am, with authorities reporting a disciplined and copy-free environment across all centres. The first day of examinations was held simultaneously at 84 centres under tight administrative and security supervision.

Officials confirmed that a total of 571 candidates were absent on the opening day of the examinations. Despite this, the overall conduct of the examinations remained orderly, with no reports of malpractice, irregularities, or any untoward incidents from any centre in the district.

A range of senior officials from the district administration and education authorities visited multiple examination centres throughout the day to oversee proceedings. Inspections were carried out at several institutions, including Satgora Baitul Mokarram Kamil Madrasa, Police Lines School and College, and Collectorate School and College.

Among those supervising the examination process were Mohammad Ruhul Amin and Amir Ali. They, along with other officials, monitored both physical arrangements at centres and live CCTV feeds to ensure compliance with examination regulations and maintain transparency.

To reinforce oversight, the district administration deployed five dedicated vigilance teams at the district level. In addition, 20 tag officers were assigned within the metropolitan area to provide continuous monitoring of examination activities at selected centres.

Security arrangements were also strengthened across all examination venues. Members of law enforcement agencies, executive magistrates, and other security personnel were stationed at centres to ensure law and order and to prevent any disruption during the examination period.

Officials stated that the combined efforts of the district administration, education authorities, and law enforcement agencies contributed to the smooth and uninterrupted commencement of the examinations. They further emphasised that enhanced monitoring measures, including CCTV surveillance and on-site supervision, were in place to uphold discipline and ensure a fair examination environment for all candidates.
