The body was discovered on Saturday, 9 May 2026, buried beneath the earthen floor of a cow shed in Basatpur East Para village. The recovery concludes a missing person’s investigation that had been active for precisely one month and five days.

The victim, Ikramul Kabir, was the son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of South Baropota village within the Putkhali Union. According to his family, Ikramul disappeared without a trace more than a month ago, prompting a series of unsuccessful searches by his relatives.

The breakthrough in the case occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 8:00 pm when a police team, acting on custodial intelligence, raided the residence of a local couple in Basatpur. Upon excavating the floor of the cow shed situated on the premises, officers uncovered the semi-decomposed remains of the victim.

We have detained two individuals who are currently undergoing rigorous interrogation.
