Shoriful Strikes Twice in Three Balls

Bangladesh, aiming to secure a clean sweep in the ODI series against Australia, opted to bowl first after posting 274 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs. The match took place on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Australian opener Josh Inglis was dismissed off Shoriful Islam’s bowling after offering a catch, having scored 21 runs off 12 balls, including four boundaries. On the very next delivery, Matt Renshaw, who came in at number three, was bowled without scoring.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s innings also saw an early setback. In the first over of the match, opener Soumya Sarkar was dismissed for just 2 runs, following his 42-run contribution in the previous game.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tanzid Hasan Tamim added 51 runs for the second wicket before both were dismissed. Tanzid scored 19 runs, while Shanto made 24 runs off 50 balls.

At 61 for 3, Bangladesh were under pressure before Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy stabilised the innings. The pair added 95 runs for the fourth wicket in 109 balls. Litton retired hurt after scoring 58 off 78 balls, including four fours and two sixes.

Following this, Towhid Hridoy and Mosaddek Hossain formed another crucial partnership, adding 90 runs off 81 balls. Hridoy was dismissed for 83 off 88 balls, hitting eight boundaries.
