Trust Bank Earns Remittance Award 2026

Trust Bank PLC has been awarded the ‘Top Ten Remittance Award 2026’ at the opening ceremony of the World Conference Series 2026 (WCS 2026), held under the theme “Branding Bangladesh Beyond Bangladesh”. The event was organised by the Center for NRB and took place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on 12 April 2026, according to a press release.

The award was received on behalf of the bank by Md. Kamal Hossain Sarker, Deputy Managing Director and Head of the Islamic Banking Division. The recognition places the institution among the banks acknowledged for their contribution to facilitating remittance inflows to Bangladesh.

The programme was presided over by M. S. Sekil Chowdhury, Chairman of the organising body. Zahir Uddin Swapan, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, attended as the chief guest. Special guests included Shama Obaed, State Minister for Foreign Affairs; Nurul Haque Nur, State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment; and Fazle Elahi Akbar, former Force Commander of United Nations Peacekeeping Forces.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the banking sector, business community, and various professional groups. Their presence reflected continued engagement among stakeholders in strengthening remittance services and supporting economic activity linked to expatriate Bangladeshis.

Remittances remain an important source of foreign exchange for Bangladesh, and banks play a central role in ensuring secure and efficient transfer channels for funds sent from abroad. Awards such as this recognise institutions that demonstrate performance in delivering such services.

Although the press release did not include detailed criteria or comparative figures for the award, the recognition indicates Trust Bank PLC’s standing within the country’s remittance services sector. The conference also provided a platform for discussions on promoting Bangladesh’s global economic presence and strengthening links with the non-resident Bangladeshi community.
