An explosion from two cocktails near the Circus Fountain in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, caused alarm on Wednesday night. The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 PM, though no information about casualties has been confirmed.
According to witnesses, a motorcycle travelling from Karwan Bazar towards Shahbagh threw the cocktails towards the Circus Fountain.
Tejgaon police Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mobarak Hossain confirmed receiving the report: “We were informed about the explosion shortly after 10 PM. The area is under Kalabagan Police Station, and they can provide further details.”
Kalabagan Police Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam added: “The incident is outside our jurisdiction. Tejgaon police are in charge of the Circus Fountain area. Our team is working alongside them to ensure the safety of the public and to apprehend those responsible.”
