The Sri Lanka women’s cricket team is set to tour Bangladesh next month for a historic bilateral series, featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today released the official schedule for the tour, marking the first occasion that the Sri Lankan women will play both ODI and T20I series on Bangladeshi soil.
According to the schedule, the Sri Lankan squad will arrive in Bangladesh on 17 April and will travel directly to Rajshahi. Following two days of practice sessions on 18 and 19 April, they will play the first ODI against Bangladesh on 20 April at the Rajshahi Divisional Cricket Stadium. The second and third ODIs are scheduled for 22 and 25 April, respectively, at the same venue. There will be two practice days between the second and third ODI matches. All ODIs will commence at 9:30 a.m. local time.
After completing the ODI series, the Sri Lankan team will depart for Sylhet on 26 April. Following a practice session on 27 April, the first T20I will take place on 28 April at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The remaining two T20I matches will be played on 30 April and 2 May at the same venue. All T20I matches are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Bangladesh will host the visiting side until 3 May, when the Sri Lankan team will return home.
Historically, Sri Lanka’s women last played an ODI in Bangladesh during the 2011 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. Prior to that, they participated in a tri-nation series in 2009 involving Bangladesh and Pakistan, which Sri Lanka won. This tour represents a significant opportunity for both teams to gain experience and strengthen their performances across formats.
