LALMONIRHAT — A devastating road accident in Lalmonirhat’s Patgram area claimed the lives of three members of the same family on Tuesday morning, as they were returning home to celebrate Eid. The victims, riding a motorcycle, were struck by a truck near the Mirzarkot Model Mosque.
The deceased have been identified as Shariful Islam (35), his wife, and their son. Their daughter survived the collision but sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for urgent treatment. The family hailed from Monsapur village, Alihat Union, Hakimpur Upazila, Dinajpur District.
Local authorities and police reported that Shariful Islam was employed at a private NGO in Patgram. On the morning of the accident, he set out with his family to return home for the Eid holidays. While passing through Mirzarkot, a truck travelling in the opposite direction collided with their motorcycle, killing the father, mother, and son instantly. The seriously injured daughter was rescued and rushed to hospital for medical care.
