A continuous 24-hour suspension of gas supply will affect several areas in and around Dhaka from Friday morning, according to an official notice issued by the authorities.
The announcement, published by the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, confirmed that gas supply will remain fully shut off from 7:00 am on Friday (24 April) until 7:00 am on Saturday (25 April). The disruption will apply to all categories of consumers within the specified regions.
According to the notice, the suspension covers a wide range of industrial, residential, and commercial zones. These include key areas along the Ashulia–Bypail road corridor, Dhaka Export Processing Zone, and several major industrial installations and surrounding localities. During this period, residents and businesses are expected to experience a complete halt in gas availability.
The authorities also cautioned that adjacent areas not directly listed may still experience low gas pressure or intermittent supply fluctuations throughout the 24-hour period.
While no specific reason was detailed in the public notice, such scheduled interruptions are typically associated with system maintenance, network upgrades, or infrastructure development works aimed at improving overall distribution efficiency. The utility provider has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and has requested cooperation from consumers during the suspension period.
