Despite securing a 2–1 victory in the preceding One Day International series against Australia, Bangladesh have lost the T20I series and now face the prospect of a clean sweep defeat ahead of the third and final match.
Bangladesh captain Litton Kumar Das will once again be absent from the decisive third T20 International due to a muscle injury in the back of his left leg. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that he has been ruled out of the final fixture.
In an official statement, the BCB said that Litton’s recovery from the left-leg injury has not progressed sufficiently for him to be considered available for selection in the final match of the series.
Litton had already missed the first two matches of the three-match series due to the same injury. In his absence, vice-captain Towhid Hridoy has led the national side throughout the series.
Bangladesh have already lost the T20I series against Australia. They were defeated by four wickets in the opening match and suffered a seven-run loss in the second encounter, allowing Australia to secure the series before the final game.
The third and final T20 International between Bangladesh and Australia is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
| Match | Result | Bangladesh Captain |
|---|---|---|
| 1st T20I | Australia won by 4 wickets | Towhid Hridoy |
| 2nd T20I | Australia won by 7 runs | Towhid Hridoy |
| 3rd T20I | To be played | Towhid Hridoy |
With Litton Das unavailable throughout the series, Bangladesh have been led entirely by Towhid Hridoy, who continues to captain the side in the final match despite the series outcome already being decided.
