Bangladesh Grant NOCs for Five Players

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to five Bangladeshi cricketers, including Shakib Al Hasan, to participate in the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL). The decision comes amid a scheduling conflict between the LPL and Bangladesh’s T20 series tour of Zimbabwe, which will result in the national side missing several key players during the series.

Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently outside the national setup, secured a franchise contract directly in the LPL. Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed also obtained direct franchise contracts, and the BCB has granted permission for all three players to feature in the tournament. According to a report by Cricbuzz, Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed will not participate in the T20 matches against Zimbabwe and have been rested for that series.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Mahmud, both selected through the LPL draft, have also received NOCs from the board. Shahriar Nafees, Head of Cricket Operations at the BCB, confirmed that all five players have been cleared to take part in the tournament while adjustments have been made to the squad for the Zimbabwe T20 series.

The sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League is scheduled to begin on 17 July, with the final set to be played on 8 August.

In parallel, Bangladesh are set to tour Zimbabwe this month, featuring a multi-format series comprising one Test, three One Day Internationals, and three T20 Internationals. The tour begins with the lone Test in Harare on 28 June. The ODI series will conclude on 11 July, while the T20 series will run until 19 July.

Due to the overlap in scheduling between the LPL and the Zimbabwe tour, the BCB has had to balance international commitments and franchise opportunities, leading to the issuance of NOCs for the selected players.
