Residents of Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur have been advised that electricity supply will be temporarily suspended in certain areas due to scheduled maintenance on the national grid. The announcement was confirmed by Md. Akhtar Hossain, Deputy General Manager of the Kaliganj Zonal Office, Gazipur Palli Bidyut Samiti-1.
According to Md. Hossain, the maintenance work is planned for Thursday, 27 November, and Saturday, 29 November, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on both days. During these hours, electricity supply will be interrupted in the Kaliganj, Seven Rings, and Jangalia areas.
To minimise inconvenience, authorities have ensured that power supply will continue through an alternative feeder serving Kaliganj upazila and Kaliganj thana, wherever feasible. The temporary disruption is considered essential to complete necessary maintenance, which is expected to improve the reliability of the electricity network and prevent unplanned outages in the future.
The Kaliganj Zonal Office urged residents and businesses to plan accordingly and requested their cooperation during the maintenance period. Authorities also apologised for any disruption caused, emphasising that the work is aimed at enhancing long-term service quality.
A summary of the power suspension schedule is provided below:
