Renowned singer Kona recently shared two images of hands adorned with mehendi on social media on 3 and 4 December. Rumours quickly emerged suggesting she was about to get married again. However, Kona clarified that the images were part of the promotion for her new song ‘Mehendi’ and not related to her personal life or marriage.
Last Friday, it was confirmed that the photos were for promoting the song, which was released that evening. Kona mentioned that she did not anticipate the rumours would spread so rapidly.
Speaking to the media, Kona said, “I shared pictures from the shoot of the song titled ‘Mehendi’. My hands had mehendi, but it has nothing to do with my personal life or marriage. Many people called asking what was really happening. Since the song was to be released the next day, everything would become clear. That is why I remained silent.”
The lyrics of the song were written by Bandhan and Jamshed Chowdhury. Kona and Nish lent their vocals, while Sanjoy arranged the music. The video was directed by Chandan Roy Chowdhury and Riaz Ali. Models included Sunerah, Maisha Nazia, Manjita Roy, among others, and Kona herself appeared in the video. Within 24 hours of release on Kinetic Music’s YouTube channel, the video received nearly 2 million views.
Kona added that she is currently busy with her music projects. Recently, her first theme song for BKCSP was released. In November, her song ‘Bitor O Bahire’, composed by Fuad Al Muktaadir, was published. She is also working on multiple songs with US-based singer Muza, which will be released sequentially.
