Evercare Medical Board Releases Eleven Key Hadi Treatment Updates

Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, is currently receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. Due to the complexity and critical nature of his medical condition, the hospital authorities have formed a specialised medical board comprising experts from various departments. The board includes a total of 15 experienced physicians who are collectively overseeing and coordinating every aspect of Hadi’s care to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

The information was released on Saturday, 13 December, through a statement by Dr Md Zafar Iqbal, senior consultant and coordinator of the ICU and HDU departments at Evercare Hospital. The statement confirmed that following surgery on Friday, Hadi was transferred from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to the Critical Care Unit of Evercare Hospital. He is now under intensive post-operative monitoring with all necessary medical support being provided by the expert team.

The medical board outlined eleven significant observations and decisions regarding Hadi’s condition. Firstly, Hadi has sustained severe brain damage. With surgery already completed, his condition must now be managed conservatively, following strict brain protection protocols while continuing all essential life-support measures. If his condition stabilises, a repeat CT scan of the brain may be conducted.

The second observation highlighted a lung injury, with minor bleeding noted through the chest drain tube. The drain must remain in place, and ventilator support continues while carefully preventing lung infection or acute respiratory distress syndrome. Thirdly, his kidney function has returned to normal, and current fluid balance management should be maintained. The fourth observation noted that the previously observed imbalance between clotting and bleeding, indicative of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), has largely stabilised but requires continuous monitoring, including transfusions of blood and blood components as necessary.

The fifth observation highlighted fluctuations in blood pressure and heart rate due to brain stem injury. Current blood pressure support continues, and the team remains ready to implement a temporary pacemaker if the heart rate drops dangerously. The sixth observation expressed gratitude to the medical and support staff of Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s One-Stop Crisis Centre, Radiology, ICU, Anaesthesia, Neurosurgery, and other departments for their exceptional care. The seventh observation stressed that Hadi’s overall condition remains extremely critical.

The eighth observation confirmed that the patient’s family has been briefed on his condition and may provide updates through the media if they wish. The medical team requested prayers for his recovery. The ninth observation urged the public to avoid gathering at the hospital, confirming that no visitors are permitted. The tenth observation appealed for public trust in the medical board and warned against spreading speculation or misinformation, emphasising the protection of the patient’s privacy and dignity. Finally, the eleventh observation reaffirmed that the medical team is providing treatment with the highest professional standards and requested continued prayers for Hadi’s improvement and recovery.
