In the wake of revolutionary leader Sharif Osman Bin Hadi’s untimely death, the Inquilab Mancha has once again emerged as a focal point of national political discourse. Analysts assert that the organisation, founded on Hadi’s ideals, continues to wield significant influence over the country’s political landscape, and its future direction is a matter of considerable public interest.
The most pressing question now is: who will assume the mantle of leadership and become the next convenor of Inquilab Mancha? Speaking to an interview on Sunday, senior members of the organisation emphasised their commitment to advancing the principles and vision of the late Hadi. Despite his physical absence, the leaders conveyed that Hadi remains the intrinsic guiding force of the movement, and they are determined to ensure that his ideological path continues to shape the organisation’s activities.
Public discussions, both on social media and in civic spaces, reflect intense debate over the leadership question. Many commentators argue that Hadi’s unique presence can never truly be replaced, yet they stress the importance of preserving the movement he founded. There is a growing consensus that the next leader should be a figure of unwavering loyalty and dedication, capable of embodying Hadi’s vision and transforming the organisation into a living embodiment of his ideals.
Inquilab Mancha’s senior leader, Fatima Tasnim Juma, stated, “We are steadfastly carrying forward our brother’s struggle. In our hearts, Hadi remains our convenor. Even amid mourning, we are continuing our organisational activities. Once a decision regarding the new convenor is reached, it will be announced through an official press conference.” She further confirmed that the ‘Inquilab Cultural Centre’, another of Hadi’s enduring legacies, will be reopened in the near future.
Publication editor Fahim Abdullah added, “There have been no discussions yet regarding new committee members or the convenor. We are still in mourning and focused on immediate organisational priorities. However, the Cultural Centre will reopen by Tuesday or Wednesday, and a programme of events will soon be announced.”
Following Hadi’s funeral on Saturday, an impassioned crowd gathered in Shahbagh to demand the swift apprehension of those responsible for his assassination. On Sunday, Inquilab Mancha issued two stern warnings via its official Facebook page, calling for prompt justice for the perpetrators and the identification of intelligence operatives who may have been complicit.
Meanwhile, ordinary citizens have continued to pay their respects at Hadi’s grave, laying flowers in a poignant display of public mourning. One question resonates across the crowds and online forums alike: who will emerge as the next convenor of Inquilab Mancha, carrying forward the revolutionary spirit and ideals of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi?
