Ferdaus Ara, the Executive Officer (Upazila Nirbahi Officer – UNO) of Banchharampur Upazila in Brahmanbaria, has passed away while undergoing treatment in Dhaka. She died at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Islami Bank Central Hospital, Kakrail, Dhaka (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).
According to Banchharampur Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), Md. Robiul Hasan Bhuiyan, Ferdaus Ara felt unwell on Monday and immediately sought medical attention in Dhaka. She was admitted to the hospital for severe migraine pain, but later suffered a cardiac arrest, which proved fatal despite all medical efforts.
Born in Dhaka, Ferdaus Ara hailed from a paternal home in Chandpur and resided with her family in Shekdi, Jatrabari, Dhaka. Her in-laws live in Khanebari, Daudkandi, Comilla. She belonged to the 36th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre and had joined Banchharampur Upazila as UNO on 9 January 2025. Prior to this appointment, she served at the District Commissioner’s Office in Brahmanbaria.
At the time of her death, she is survived by her husband and a seven-year-old daughter, leaving behind a host of colleagues and admirers who regarded her as a diligent, honest, and approachable officer.
