Atif Aslam Is Coming to Dhaka—Will be Sharing Stage With Two Local Bands!

Young music enthusiasts in Dhaka are eagerly anticipating the upcoming concert featuring renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. The event, organised by Main Stage, is scheduled to take place on 13 December at the Bashundhara Residential Area. Bangladeshi performers Nemesis and Fuad & Friends will also join Atif on stage, making it one of the most talked-about events of the season.

The organisers view this programme not merely as a concert but as a major cultural celebration for the youth. They believe that the presence of Atif Aslam, a leading South Asian artist, along with two prominent local musical groups, will create an unforgettable night for attendees.

Tickets for the event are being sold online via CholoGhuri. Inspired by the titles of Atif’s well-known songs, the tickets are divided into three categories: Duri Area priced at 2,499 taka, Adaat Area at 4,999 taka, and Pehli Nazar Area at 9,999 taka. Ticket sales for the Adaat category have already been completed. The organisers expect an audience of nearly 35,000 people.

Through the Private University Students’ Alliance of Bangladesh, a portion of the ticket revenue will be donated to support families affected by the July movement. The organisers describe this initiative as an act of social responsibility aimed at supporting young people.

Despite the preparations, concerns remain due to recent cancellations of several events featuring foreign artists. At least six major concerts planned for November and December were announced earlier, but many have been postponed and three have been cancelled due to the lack of administrative approval tied to security issues.

In this context, rumours spread last week suggesting that Atif Aslam’s concert might also be cancelled. However, Main Stage has confirmed that the event will proceed as planned. They stated that all arrangements are being made in compliance with relevant government departments to ensure safety and proper management of the programme.
