Family members stated that Shamim had been staying at his in-laws’ house on the night of the incident. Around 8:00 pm, a group of local individuals allegedly called him outside. Shortly afterwards, he was taken away from the area. Later that night, his body was discovered near a coastal embankment (locally known as a “barricade dam” area).
Relatives reported that his body bore multiple injury marks consistent with sharp weapons, suggesting a violent assault. The family has strongly claimed that he was deliberately targeted and murdered as part of a planned attack.
Shamim’s brother, Md Selim, alleged that the killing stemmed from ongoing disputes between his brother and certain local individuals. He believes those involved in the dispute orchestrated the attack and carried it out in a coordinated manner.
Sitakunda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mahinul Islam confirmed that two individuals have been detained in connection with the murder. They are currently being interrogated, although their identities have not been disclosed for the sake of the investigation.
Police authorities stated that efforts are underway to determine the exact motive behind the killing and to identify all individuals involved. Investigators are examining whether the incident was the result of personal conflict, political rivalry, or other underlying disputes.
