At the University of Dhaka (DU), the gates of five main buildings were locked at midnight by the student league as part of the announced ‘lockdown programme’ on Wednesday (13 November).
The incident occurred late on Tuesday (11 November). The buildings affected include the Faculty of Fine Arts, Institute of Education and Research (IER), Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, Curzon Hall, and the Science Building.
Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Proctor of the university, stated that the security personnel on duty at the gates have been temporarily withdrawn. He further mentioned that the assistant proctors visited the site and are verifying whether CCTV cameras are present. The proctor emphasized that such activities will not be tolerated.
