Abdur Rahmanel Mashud of the Election Commission told Prothom Alo: “According to the Representation of the People Order (RPO), if a candidate dies, the election for the relevant constituency is considered null and void. The EC will announce the revised election schedule for Sherpur-3 in due course. Voters will not lose their right to vote, and all necessary preparations will be completed ahead of the rescheduled poll.”
