Grameenphone has formed a partnership with Prime Bank FinTech Limited to expand access to secure and inclusive digital financial services across Bangladesh. The initiative brings together Grameenphone’s nationwide network and digital ecosystem with Prime Bank FinTech Limited’s Mobile Financial Services (MFS) platform to improve service availability and encourage wider adoption of digital transactions.
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at GPHouse in Dhaka. The agreement was executed by Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone, and Sheikh Aminur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank FinTech Limited, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
As part of the partnership, customers will be able to carry out Grameenphone mobile recharge through Prime Bank FinTech Limited’s MFS platform. This integration is intended to simplify transactions by allowing users to access telecommunications and financial services within a single interface.
The agreement also includes the provision of selected telecom and financial services through USSD channels. This feature enables access for users without smartphones or internet connectivity, thereby extending services to segments that rely on basic mobile devices. USSD technology remains a widely used solution in Bangladesh for ensuring service reach beyond smartphone users.
Yasir Azman stated that Grameenphone continues to prioritise customer-centric solutions and aims to make essential services more accessible as digital adoption grows. He noted that the partnership integrates financial services with everyday mobile connectivity, allowing customers to access services securely and conveniently regardless of device capability.
Sheikh Aminur Rahman said the collaboration would strengthen the existing MFS ecosystem and extend its reach to a broader user base. He added that combining telecommunications infrastructure with financial technology capabilities would support the delivery of efficient and inclusive financial solutions.
Officials attending from Grameenphone included Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam, Chief Business Officer Asif Naimur Rashid, Head of Digital Business Zahiduz Zaman, Head of Prime Accounts Arvid Chowdhury, Head of Digital Retail Inzamul Haque Chowdhury, and Md Hasanul Islam. From Prime Bank FinTech Limited, participants included Chief Commercial Officer Mohammad Mahbub Sobhan, Head of Brand and Communication Nabila Khalid, Additional General Manager Mohammad Mahmud Hassan, and Head of Technology Operation and Services Mahidul Hasan.
