Iran’s military has stated that a renewed conflict involving the United States and Israel could break out at any time, while also declaring that Tehran is fully prepared to respond firmly to what it described as any “recklessness or miscalculation” by Washington.
In an official statement issued by Iran’s military headquarters, it was noted that the possibility of another war with the United States cannot be ruled out. The statement further stressed that there is no reliable evidence that Washington consistently respects international law or binding agreements.
According to the Iranian authorities, Tehran has demonstrated flexibility at various stages of diplomatic engagement, including during pre-war discussions and ceasefire-related processes. However, it alleged that such flexibility has not been met with constructive responses from the United States. Instead, it claimed that Washington has adopted a tougher stance whenever Iran has softened its positions.
The statement also reiterated Iran’s position that its willingness to negotiate has not been reciprocated in a balanced manner. This forms part of Tehran’s broader assessment of its diplomatic interactions with the United States.
Separately, Al Jazeera, citing unnamed sources, reported that Iran had withdrawn from several key demands in a peace proposal that was previously rejected by former US President Donald Trump. Among those reported concessions was the issue of lifting economic sanctions, although these claims have not been independently verified within the provided material.
Iran’s current position is that any meaningful negotiations on critical issues such as its nuclear programme must first address the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the lifting of sanctions. Tehran has emphasised that without clear progress on these matters, discussions remain incomplete.
At present, there are no indications of progress towards resolving the ongoing diplomatic deadlock between Iran and the United States.
