Rivers in Kurigram, including the Dharla, Teesta, Dudhkumar and Brahmaputra, are showing a gradual rise in water levels due to upstream inflows and local rainfall. However, according to the Kurigram Water Development Board (BWDB), all river points remain flowing below the danger level. The information was recorded in the board’s river monitoring report at 9:00 am on Sunday.
The BWDB stated that there is currently no risk of flooding in the district, although continuous monitoring of the situation is being maintained.

Kurigram Water Development Board Executive Engineer Rakibul Islam stated that the rising water levels are influenced by upstream runoff and local rainfall. He confirmed that all rivers are still flowing below the danger threshold, and there is no immediate risk of flooding.
He further added that the situation is under continuous observation and that monitoring activities are ongoing to ensure timely updates and preparedness if required.
The BWDB report confirms that the current fluctuations in river levels are consistent with seasonal hydrological patterns in the region, while overall conditions remain within safe limits.
