A group of six Bangladeshi cricketers travelled to Pakistan to take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with Parvez Hossain Emon receiving the longest No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). However, despite being granted a longer stay compared to his compatriots, he will now return home earlier than all others.
The PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars has confirmed that Parvez will take no further part in the current season due to injury. According to the franchise, he is scheduled to depart for Dhaka on Saturday night.
Parvez, making his maiden appearance in the PSL, featured in three matches for Lahore Qalandars. After being dismissed cheaply in his first two innings, he produced a brisk 45 off 19 balls in his third appearance. Across the tournament, he scored 71 runs from three innings at a strike rate of 161.36.
The franchise announced his withdrawal via its official Facebook page, stating that Parvez sustained a shoulder injury during a match against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on 3 April. The injury occurred following a collision with Asif Ali during the match, which ultimately ruled him out of further participation in the tournament.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board had originally granted Parvez an NOC valid until 25 April for his PSL participation. In contrast, five other Bangladeshi cricketers—Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain and Tanzid Hasan—are also currently in Pakistan for the league. All five are included in Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, scheduled to begin on 17 April. Their NOC is valid until 12 April, after which they are expected to return to Bangladesh the following day.
