The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted official clearance for three of its leading cricketers—Mominul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taskin Ahmed—to participate in overseas leagues until 23 December. Shahriar Nafis, the BCB’s In-Charge of Cricket Operations, confirmed the development, noting that all three players will be actively involved in upcoming competitions abroad.
Mominul Haque has already arrived in Australia, where he will feature for the Blacktown District Cricket Club in the prestigious New South Wales Grade Cricket competition. This league has a rich history of nurturing top-tier talent, with international stars such as Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc among its alumni. Mominul’s inclusion reflects his continued commitment to honing his skills in competitive overseas conditions ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Meanwhile, fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed have travelled to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the IL T20 League. Mustafizur will represent the Dubai Capitals, while Taskin has been contracted by the Sharjah Warriors. Both players are expected to return to Bangladesh well in advance of the BPL’s commencement, ensuring their availability for domestic competition.
This move follows an earlier decision by the BCB to allow leg-spinner Rishad Hossain to compete in the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia. Rishad is set to play for the Hobart Hurricanes when the tournament begins on 14 December. By enabling multiple players to gain international exposure, the BCB continues to support its strategy of strengthening player experience and competitiveness in diverse conditions.
