BRAC Bank and Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) have entered into a strategic partnership to implement a digital gas bill collection system. The collaboration, formalised on 5 May 2026, is aimed at improving payment accessibility and operational transparency for customers across the utility provider’s service zones.
Digital Infrastructure and API Integration
The core of this partnership involves the establishment of direct Application Programming Interface (API) connectivity between BRAC Bank and Karnaphuli Gas. This technical framework ensures that whenever a bill is paid, the records are updated in real-time. Such automated synchronisation is designed to eliminate manual data entry errors, enhance reconciliation accuracy, and provide immediate confirmation to the consumer.
The agreement covers multiple payment pathways:
Retail Customers: Can settle bills via Astha, BRAC Bank’s digital banking mobile application.
Corporate Clients: Can manage large-scale payments through CORPNET, the bank’s dedicated online corporate portal.
Physical Network: Payments will also be accepted through the bank’s extensive nationwide network of branches and sub-branches.
Key Signatories and Event Participants
The formal signing ceremony took place in Chattogram, attended by senior leadership from both the financial and energy sectors.
