Govt working for beautiful life of Dhaka’ dwellers: PM. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced that her government is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Dhaka residents as she laid the foundation stone for four major development projects under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).”The people of this area, particularly old Dhaka, will benefit and be able to live a better life once these four projects are completed. We are working towards this goal,” she said.
The development projects include a 10-storey Bangabazar Paikari Nagar Market, an eight-lane Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Saroni from Postogola Bridge to Rayerbazar Sluice Gate, the Nazrul Sarabor at Dhanmondi Lake, and the modernization of the Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy Children Park.
The Prime Minister briefly outlined these initiatives, emphasizing her government’s efforts to enhance Dhaka’s overall development and improve its connectivity with other districts. “We want to build a ring road around Dhaka to facilitate easy inter-district communication,” she stated.
She also pointed out the previous lack of significant road connectivity between the eastern and western parts of Dhaka. Her government has already made strides by constructing a metro rail system, an expressway, and several other roads, with additional metro rail lines currently under construction to further ease transportation challenges.
