Brad Arnold, the Grammy-nominated lead vocalist and founding member of the iconic American rock band Three Doors Down, has passed away at the age of 47 following a year-long battle with cancer.

Arnold died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, 7 February. In a statement released by the band, it was confirmed that the rock star, who had been diagnosed with stage-four kidney cancer, spent his final moments surrounded by his wife and family.

The singer had first revealed his illness publicly in May 2025, disclosing that he had been diagnosed with stage-four clear cell renal carcinoma, which later spread to his lungs. At the time, Arnold expressed remarkable courage, stating, “I am not afraid. Truly, I am not afraid. If you can, please say a prayer for me.”

Formed in 1996 in Mississippi, Three Doors Down quickly rose to international fame following the release of their debut album, The Better Life, which sold over six million copies worldwide. The band went on to release six studio albums in total, earning multiple Grammy nominations and Billboard Music Awards along the way.
