Police have arrested Sohel Mirdha of Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali, who had previously drawn public attention after attempting to present a cow named “Kalor Manik” as a gift to BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The arrest was confirmed by Mirzaganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Touhiduzzaman. Sohel Mirdha is a resident of North Jhatibunia village under the same upazila. He was arrested on Sunday (14 June) and subsequently sent to jail through court proceedings.
According to police sources, Sohel Mirdha faces two separate criminal cases. One is a case related to physical assault, in which he is listed as the first named accused (FIR-1), and the other is a case under the Pornography Control Act, where he is named as an accused associate. Authorities stated that he was arrested based on these pending cases.
