Two people were killed in a collision between a private car and a Vibatak vehicle in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:30am on 30 May in the Ashrafpur area along the Itakhola–Monohardi regional road, according to police and local sources.
The deceased were identified as Junaid Sheikh, 13, son of Al Amin Sheikh of Satpara village in Shibpur upazila, and Rubel Sheikh, 19, son of Khorshed Sheikh of Lakushi village under the same police station area.
According to local residents and police, the collision took place between Kumartek and Monurtek in the Ashrafpur area on the Itakhola–Monohardi regional highway. A private car collided with a Vibatak vehicle that was approaching from the opposite direction.
The impact left Vibatak driver Md Rubel Sheikh, passenger Md Junaid Sheikh and Junaid’s mother, Mahfuza, seriously injured.
Local residents rescued the injured and transported them to the Shibpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Doctors at the hospital declared Junaid Sheikh dead upon arrival.
Due to the severity of his injuries, Rubel Sheikh was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. However, he died while being taken to the hospital.
Mahfuza, the mother of Junaid Sheikh, remains under treatment at the hospital.

The incident was confirmed by Md Kohinur Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Shibpur Model Police Station. He said that, following requests from family members, the bodies had been handed over to their respective families after completion of the necessary procedures.
