Bound Body Found After Abduction

Police in Chandpur’s Hajiganj upazila have recovered the body of a man found with his hands and feet tied, in what authorities suspect to be a premeditated killing following an abduction linked to a failed robbery attempt.

The deceased has been identified as Farid, aged 43, son of Shahjahan of Miji Bari in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district. He had been working as a security guard in Ramganj upazila of Lakshmipur district.

The body was discovered on Saturday morning in front of Randhunimura Munshi Bari area of Hajiganj. According to local residents, a woman passing by the roadside first noticed the body lying near the road. She immediately raised an alarm, prompting nearby people to gather at the scene. They then found the body of an unidentified man with his hands and feet bound.

Police were subsequently informed and arrived at the location, where they confirmed the identity of the deceased.

Hajiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Mannan stated in comments to Jugantor (marked: Jugantor) that locals had reported the discovery of a bound body on the roadside. He added that preliminary assessments indicate the incident may have been a planned murder.

Separately, information gathered from Ramganj suggests that the incident may be connected to a robbery attempt late on Friday night. It is reported that a group attempted to rob a jewellery shop in Ramganj. During the incident, the security guard, Farid, reportedly noticed the suspects. Following this, he was allegedly abducted by the assailants and taken away in a white private car.

The next morning, his body was found in Hajiganj, raising suspicions that he may have been killed after the abduction.

Police have not yet released further details regarding suspects or arrests, and an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
