BRTA Fuel Pass Service Faces Planned Downtime

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will temporarily suspend its Fuel Pass registration service for five hours on Thursday due to scheduled maintenance work aimed at upgrading its server and storage infrastructure.

According to an official notification issued on Wednesday (6 May) by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, the maintenance activity will be carried out on Thursday (7 May) from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. During this period, the Fuel Pass registration system will remain completely unavailable, and no related digital services will be accessible to users.

The authorities stated that the temporary suspension is necessary to implement essential technical improvements, enhance system reliability, and ensure stronger data security. The growing number of users and increasing demand on the platform have made it necessary to upgrade the underlying infrastructure to maintain smooth and uninterrupted service delivery in the future.

Officials further emphasised that such scheduled maintenance is a routine part of digital system management and plays a crucial role in preventing unexpected outages, reducing system errors, and improving overall performance. The upgrade is expected to strengthen the platform’s capacity to handle higher traffic and provide a more stable user experience.

The ministry has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to users during the downtime and has urged all concerned individuals and organisations to complete their Fuel Pass-related activities before the scheduled maintenance period begins. Services are expected to resume immediately after 9:00 pm once the maintenance work is completed.

The Fuel Pass system is a key digital mechanism used for registering and regulating fuel usage for vehicles across the transport sector. It plays an important role in ensuring transparency in fuel distribution and monitoring consumption patterns. Any disruption in this service, even for a short period, may affect transport operators, vehicle owners, and related institutions who rely on it for daily operations.
