The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has apprehended an Indian national for illegally crossing the international border into Bangladesh. The individual was detained in the Bhujpur border area, located within the Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong district. The operation was successfully carried out with the assistance of local residents.

The incident occurred at approximately 13:30 BST on Monday, 22 June. A patrol team from the Andharmanik Border Observation Post (BOP), which operates under the jurisdiction of the Ramgarh Battalion (43 BGB), was conducting a security sweep in the border region.
During the patrol in the North Andharmanik area, the BGB personnel spotted a young man whose presence and actions raised suspicion. With the active cooperation of the local populace, the patrol team managed to intercept and detain the individual. Upon interception, the suspect failed to produce any valid travel documents or legal authorisation permitting his entry into the territory of Bangladesh. He was subsequently placed under arrest for unlawful infiltration across the state border.
The apprehended individual has been formally identified as 19-year-old Puton Molla. Official documentation and preliminary questioning revealed that he is a resident of India. He is the son of Badal Molla, residing in Ramendranagar village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sabroom Police Station in the South Tripura district of the state of Tripura, India.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that formal legal proceedings are being initiated against the Indian citizen under the relevant statutory laws governing illegal entry and immigration violations in Bangladesh. The BGB is currently processing the paperwork required to hand Puton Molla over to the Bhujpur Police Station for further interrogation, processing, and subsequent judicial production.
