After a long hiatus, two of Bangladesh’s most celebrated vocalists, Imran Mahmudul and Nancy, have reunited for a fresh musical collaboration. Their latest duet, titled “Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon”, has been recorded for the upcoming film Shikar, sparking considerable interest across the country’s music and film industries.
The song, penned by noted lyricist Kabir Bakul, was recorded on Sunday evening. Imran himself has composed and arranged the music, adding a personal creative touch to the project. The track carries a melodic tone, designed to blend emotional depth with cinematic appeal. From the moment news of the collaboration surfaced, anticipation began to build among listeners who have long admired the pair’s musical chemistry.
Both artists expressed satisfaction after completing the recording session. Nancy described the experience as natural and enjoyable, noting that working with Imran has always felt effortless. She also shared that the lyrics and composition are likely to resonate strongly with audiences, particularly due to their emotional structure and lyrical sincerity. Returning to a film soundtrack after a significant break, she expressed optimism about the song’s reception.
Imran echoed similar sentiments, praising Nancy as one of the most powerful voices in the country’s music scene. He said that performing a duet with her always carries a distinct emotional weight. According to him, the song had been anticipated by both artists for quite some time, and he hopes it will connect deeply with listeners once released.
The film Shikar, directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, has been in development for an extended period. The director has described it as a thriller inspired by real incidents along border regions, where human struggle and survival form the core narrative. The project is now moving into active production.
The film stars actress Apu Biswas and actor Murtaza Palash in lead roles. While Apu is widely known for her work in romantic dramas, she will be seen in a different and more intense character in this production. Alongside them, veteran and supporting actors including Borda Mithu and Rashed Mamun Apu are part of the cast. Shooting is scheduled to begin this week, with the production team planning an intensive schedule in Nepal, where several key scenes will be filmed against scenic backdrops.
Story development is based on an original concept by Abdullah Zahir Babu, while cinematography is handled by Saiful Shahin. Produced under the banner of Reza Films, the project aims to combine narrative realism with strong visual storytelling.
The reunion of Imran and Nancy, coupled with the commencement of Shikar’s production, has generated renewed enthusiasm in both the music and film sectors. For audiences, it marks the return of a much-admired musical pairing at a time when cinematic soundtracks continue to play a vital role in shaping viewer engagement.
