The decision to call off the event was confirmed by the band’s lead vocalist, Zunayed Evan, citing significant concerns regarding crowd management and public safety.
Reasons for Cancellation
In a statement released via his verified Facebook account late on Friday night (17 April), Evan informed followers that the band would not be performing at the Dhanmondi venue as planned. The primary factor behind this decision was the logistical challenge posed by an open-air setting.
The organisers expressed apprehension that the venue’s capacity was insufficient to accommodate the projected turnout. Given the band’s current popularity, a massive influx of fans was expected, which the organisers deemed impossible to regulate in an open public space. Furthermore, local administrative authorities raised concerns regarding the potential for severe traffic congestion in the Dhanmondi area should the event proceed.

The cancellation follows an exceptionally busy period for the band. Throughout the first half of April, Ashes maintained a rigorous performance schedule across the capital and other regions of Bangladesh.
