According to the forecast, the extended part of a prevailing low-pressure system is currently stretching from West Bengal to the northern Bay of Bengal. In the preceding 24 hours, the highest recorded rainfall in the country was 60 millimetres in Nikli, located in Kishoreganj district, according to official meteorological observations.
