According to the official data provided by the DGHS, the cumulative number of suspected measles cases across Bangladesh has reached 88,895 between 15 March and 17 June of the current year. Within the last 24 hours, laboratory tests confirmed measles infections in 111 individuals. This brought the total number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases to 10,634 for the period spanning from 15 March to 17 June.
The institutional healthcare data provided by the directorate indicates significant pressure on medical facilities. Between 15 March and 17 June, a total of 73,277 individuals exhibiting clinical symptoms of suspected measles required hospital admission. Out of these hospitalised patients, 69,688 individuals successfully recovered and were subsequently discharged from various medical centres across the country.
To provide a clear synthesis of the epidemiological trends, the detailed data from the DGHS report has been structured into the comprehensive statistical table below:
| Epidemiological Indicators | Figures for Last 24 Hours | Cumulative Figures (15 March–17 June) |
| Suspected Measles Cases | 966 | 88,895 |
| Laboratory-Confirmed Measles Cases | 111 | 10,634 |
| Total Hospital Admissions | — | 73,277 |
| Total Hospital Discharges (Recoveries) | — | 69,688 |
| Fatalities from Suspected Measles | 4 | 568 (All children) |
| Fatalities from Confirmed Measles | 0 | 93 |
The institutional data highlights a distinction between suspected and laboratory-confirmed fatalities. Although four deaths were attributed to suspected measles within the last 24 hours, no fatalities were recorded among the laboratory-confirmed cases during this specific 24-hour reporting window.
However, looking at the broader timeline from 15 March to 17 June, the cumulative mortality figures show a severe impact. A total of 568 children have died across the nation from suspected measles infections. Concurrently, the number of individuals who lost their lives to laboratory-verified measles during this same three-month duration stands at 93. The health authorities continue to monitor the nationwide situation via the DGHS control room.
