Monir Khan’s Mother Now Stable

The mother of renowned Bangladeshi singer Monir Khan, Monowara Khatun, was recently admitted to hospital after suddenly falling seriously ill, prompting concern within her family. She experienced intense chest pain on 20 June in the evening, leading to an emergency response and a series of urgent medical interventions.

According to family accounts, the incident began when Monowara Khatun complained of severe chest discomfort at home. Her relatives immediately took her to a nearby local healthcare centre, where she received initial assessment and stabilisation. Due to the seriousness of her condition, attending doctors advised that she be transferred without delay to a larger and better-equipped hospital in the city of Jashore for further evaluation and treatment.

Upon arrival at the hospital in Jashore, her condition worsened, necessitating admission to the Intensive Care Unit. The medical team conducted a range of diagnostic tests to determine the cause of her symptoms. At first, there was concern that she might have been suffering from a cardiac event. However, subsequent examinations ruled out both heart attack and other acute cardiac complications.

Doctors later indicated that her symptoms were likely linked to an internal infection, which had contributed to significant physical weakness and a sudden drop in blood pressure. This combination of factors had caused the severe chest pain and overall deterioration in her condition.

Monir Khan stated that the situation was initially alarming for the family, as they feared a heart attack. However, after receiving test results and specialist consultation, physicians clarified the diagnosis and adjusted the treatment plan accordingly. He added that a medical board reviewed her condition before confirming that the issue was not heart-related.

Following intensive care treatment, Monowara Khatun’s condition began to improve. She was subsequently moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward, where she continues to remain under close medical supervision. Doctors have reported that her condition is now stable, and if her recovery continues without complications, she may be discharged in the near future.

Speaking to Kalbela, Monir Khan expressed relief that his mother’s condition has stabilised, noting that timely medical intervention and continuous monitoring played a crucial role in controlling the situation. He also conveyed gratitude towards the healthcare professionals involved in her treatment.
