World Cup Anthem Unites Bangladesh

The ongoing FIFA World Cup, staged across the United States, Mexico and Canada, has generated a wave of global excitement that has also resonated strongly in Bangladesh. As the tournament moves towards its knockout stages, celebrated composer and music producer Fuad Almuqtadir has released a new football-inspired anthem designed to capture the sport’s emotional and cultural power.

Titled “Kandari Cholo”, the track presents football not merely as a competitive sport but as a lived experience intertwined with identity, community, and passion. The song reflects how deeply the game is embedded in Bangladeshi society, where football often extends beyond stadiums into streets, rooftops, and neighbourhood gatherings.

The anthem features a diverse line-up of vocalists, including Mila, Panto Kanai, Bammy, Sanjana, and rapper Black Zang, alongside Nigerian artist Oly Boy. Their combined performances lend the composition a distinctly international character, reinforcing football’s global reach.

Musically, the track blends Bangladeshi folk influences with electronic production, stadium-style chants, and elements of Brazilian baile funk, creating a hybrid soundscape that mirrors the diversity of football culture worldwide. The lyrics, contributed by Tiger Chowdhury, Mahbub Morshed (Shihab), Oly Boy, and Black Zang, emphasise themes of unity, rivalry, aspiration, and shared emotion.

The accompanying music video, directed by Miraz Hossain and produced by Runout Films, visually reinforces the song’s energetic tone, incorporating imagery inspired by both urban life and football fandom.
