The Bangladeshi band Odd Signature, established in 2017, is preparing to officially launch its first studio album, Jagat Moncho, during an upcoming live concert in Chattogram. The band initially rose to prominence through its narrative-driven songwriting style, which quickly resonated with younger audiences. Several of its early tracks, including Mondo, Dushshopno, Hok Abar, Ghum, Tumio Paro, and Mile Ekshathe, became widely circulated and featured on listeners’ playlists across Bangladesh.
In 2024, the band’s activities were abruptly halted following a road accident while travelling to a concert in Sylhet. The incident resulted in the death of vocalist Piyal and left multiple members of the group seriously injured. Following this event, all band operations were suspended.
After an extended break of approximately one year, Odd Signature returned to the music scene in May 2025 with the release of the title track of their album Jagat Moncho. This marked the beginning of their gradual return to performance and production. In August 2025, the band held a comeback concert, re-establishing its presence in the live music circuit. Since then, the group has continued working on new material while participating in selected stage performances.
The official launch of Jagat Moncho is scheduled to take place on 15 May 2026 at the Chittagong Engineers Institute. The event will be organised by Takeout and is set to begin at 4:00 PM. Content creator Antik Mahmud is expected to appear as a guest at the concert. Tickets will be available from 5 May 2026 at Takeout outlets in Chattogram, with each ticket priced at 500 Bangladeshi Taka.
According to the band, Jagat Moncho will be released in an NFC-enabled CD format. During the concert, Odd Signature will perform all tracks from the album live on stage. The band also plans to provide detailed introductions and explanations of each song during the event. Information regarding how audiences can access or collect the album will be disclosed at the venue.
In addition, the album has been adapted into a comic format, developed by Antik Mahmud and his collaborators. The comic visually represents the narratives of the songs, combining storytelling with illustrative artwork.
Arnob Amitabh, vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist of Odd Signature, described the album as the result of a long creative process marked by both achievements and personal losses. He stated that releasing a debut album is a significant milestone for any band and highlighted the added dimension created by integrating music with visual storytelling through the comic adaptation.
He also noted that all members of Odd Signature were raised in Chattogram, which is why the album’s formal launch is being held there. Furthermore, he mentioned that the band is considering organising similar solo concerts in other divisional cities, with further details to be announced once finalised.
